In the first case, their binding is ensured by the phosphate bound. They are suitable for environments such as iron & steel.
When baked, the phosphate bound helps improve their abrasion resistance (nosering of rotary kilns) or their resistance against corrosion by liquid metals, thus making these products suitable for an environment in contact with metal (liquid aluminium or zinc).
